Kitchen sink backups
Grease cools and hardens inside the pipe, then catches food scraps and coffee grounds. Joseph clears the line and tells you whether the clog was at the trap or further into the wall.
Slow sink, standing water in the shower, or a main line that keeps backing up. Joseph Russell finds where the clog sits and clears it with the right tool, then runs water to show you it drains.

Most clogs start small. A kitchen sink drains a little slower each week as grease and food scraps coat the pipe. A shower holds an inch of water because hair and soap film have knotted together in the trap. Those single-fixture clogs usually sit close to the drain opening and clear in one visit.
The pattern tells you more than any one sink. If the tub gurgles when the washer empties, or the toilet bubbles when someone runs the kitchen faucet, the restriction is probably further down in a branch line or the main.
Call Joseph when a drain keeps coming back after store-bought treatments or when more than one fixture is slow. Sewage odor and standing water are also reasons to call. If wastewater is rising toward the floor right now, stop running water and call (949) 687-9047.

Each of these clogs has a usual cause, and knowing it helps pick the right tool.
Grease cools and hardens inside the pipe, then catches food scraps and coffee grounds. Joseph clears the line and tells you whether the clog was at the trap or further into the wall.
Hair and soap film collect in the trap and the first few feet of pipe, along with toothpaste and small items that slip past the stopper. These usually clear quickly once the trap is opened up.
Standing water around your feet means the line is mostly closed. Joseph restores full flow and checks for a second restriction downstream before calling it done.
Several fixtures slowing at once points to the main. Joseph clears it from a cleanout and can run a camera if the backup keeps returning.
Learn more →A washer pushes a lot of water fast, so a partly blocked standpipe overflows quickly. Lint and detergent sludge are the usual culprits.
Leaves and mud, and sometimes roots, can block exterior drains and send rainwater back toward the house.

The tool should match the clog. Here is how a typical drain cleaning visit goes.
Joseph asks which fixtures are slow and how long it has been happening. He also wants to know what you have already tried, then checks the fixture and the nearest access point.
Before any work starts, he tells you what he thinks is causing the clog and how he plans to clear it. Pricing is explained before work starts.
Most fixture clogs come out with a cable machine or hand auger. Heavy grease or a main line that clogs again and again may call for hydro jetting, which Joseph will explain first.
He runs water through the line and checks connected fixtures so you see it draining before he packs up. If the clog points to a bigger problem, he says so and shows you why.

Both clear drains. They work differently and fit different problems, and Joseph picks based on the clog and the condition of the pipe.
A rotating steel cable breaks up the clog or pulls it back out of the pipe. It is the usual first step for household clogs.
A high-pressure water hose scours the inside of the pipe and flushes the debris downstream. It cleans the pipe wall instead of punching a hole through the clog.
Not sure which option fits? Joseph will explain both before any work starts.

Carol Kirkpatrick says Joseph came the same day for a slow kitchen sink and cleared it, and that it has worked well since. Carol also says he did not upsell any unneeded services.
“He is extremely honest and didn't upsell me any unneeded services.”
Anh-Thu Nguyen says Joseph cleared a clogged guest bathroom sink quickly, then worked through a bigger problem in the master bath and removed the toilet to unclog the main. Anh-Thu says he cleaned up afterward.
“he took the time to explain to me what he was going to do and where and what the root cause of the issues were”

Call (949) 687-9047Or request a callback →It depends on where the clog is and which method the line needs. A sink trap clog is a different job from a main line backup. Pricing is explained before work starts, so you know the cost before you say yes.
A single fixture clog is usually a short visit. Main line backups take longer, especially if Joseph runs a camera to find the cause. He can give you a better sense of timing once he sees the drain.
Snaking uses a cable to break through or pull back a blockage, which handles most common clogs. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour buildup off the pipe walls and is often the better choice for grease, sludge, roots and repeat backups.
Yes. Joseph clears main line blockages, including active backups. If the main keeps clogging, a camera inspection shows whether the cause is buildup in the pipe or damage to the pipe itself.

For one slightly slow sink, a simple home fix may help. If the drain keeps backing up or more than one fixture is slow, call for professional drain cleaning instead of pouring in more product. The same goes for any sewage smell.
Drain cleaning should not harm healthy pipe when the method fits the line. Joseph checks the situation first and picks the tool based on the clog and the pipe. Most clogs need only a cable. Hydro jetting is saved for lines where it makes sense.
